Why should I participate in the Own Your Experience Strategy Series™ ?

You should participate if you want to be in the driver's seat vs. living your professional life by chance, which is limiting.

This program was designed for U.S.-based professionals seeking empowerment and ownership of their work experience. The strategies add value to both early and seasoned careerists, due to the variety of tools and guidance for putting the strategies into practice. Participants select from techniques and guidance under the "just getting started" section if the topic is new to them, or from the "ready to scale up" section if they are in need of more advanced guidance and techniques.

How do participants experience the series?

The first strategy is delivered via email, 2 weeks after purchase. Participants receive a deck of sort cards via USPS within 2 weeks after purchase, to ensure participants can start using their sort cards when their first strategy email arrives. Then, a new strategy is delivered via email every 3 weeks over the course of 15 months.

The digital content supports learning. Participants get an overview of the topic, learn why it is important/relevant to their work experience and receive various options for implementing the strategy.

The sort cards support reflection and commitment for each strategy. Participants indicate prioritization, initial reflections, and their goals on the cards and can organize the cards by priority or category. Visually sorting cards encourages a balanced focus across the 5 categories of market, support, nourish, prepare, and assess yourself.

This combination of digital and tactile learning supports those who want to create a personal practice or ritual around their development as they design their professional work experience. Implementing a consistent practice creates ongoing value as individuals repeatedly invest time and attention in their development.

Why is it a series vs. a one-and-done approach?

This series is not a quick fix or a band-aid, it’s a journey – the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. The benefit of this experience ownership concept comes from implementing multiple strategies, customizing to personal needs, and continuously improving in order to manage one's work experience through empowerment and intent.

Effective learning and continuous improvement are enabled by the method and frequency of content delivery. Participants receive micro-bursts of information, one topic at a time, with engaging content they can interact with at their own pace.

How is this different from what my employer does to impact my work experience?

Employers can play a significant role in their employees' work experience. However, an employer's scope is limited to what they are able to invest (financially) and what they choose to invest in (learning topics).

There are many topics individuals can focus on independently – topics which do not require guidance from an employer. The Own Your Experience Strategy Series™ was designed to guide participants through various career-based strategies within their scope of influence...within their control.
